Bloomington, IN -- The City of Bloomington Entertainment and Arts District (BEAD) has launched its destination website, [www.visitbead.com|http://www.visitbead.com]. The site provides comprehensive information on the downtown district including retail, restaurants, arts and cultural attractions, events, maps, parking and artist listings.

The site was developed as a collaboration between the City's departments of Economic and Sustainable Development and Information Technology Services utilizing the City's content management system. Local marketing firm Mediaworks provided design services.

Assistant Economic Development Director for the Arts Miah Michaelsen said the website "… is the most inclusive listing of downtown amenities available and will help guide visitors interested in a unique downtown experience to Bloomington and give timely information about what to do while they're here." The website also provides information about local visual artists, musicians and arts organizations as well as information and resources about grants available, art space for lease and links to other service providers, resources and tourism partners.

BEAD will be accompanying the site launch with a regional marketing campaign aimed at potential visitors to Bloomington.

For more information about BEAD or the [visitbead.com|http://www.visitbead.com] website, call Michaelsen at 349-3534 or e-mail her at [mailto:michaelm@bloomington.in.gov]
