City announces early opening of westbound Country Club Drive

Bloomington, IN -- Today at 3 p.m. the westbound lane of Country Club Drive was opened to traffic, one week ahead of the previously scheduled opening date.

"We are happy to have Country Club Drive open to westbound traffic," said Susie Johnson, Director of Public Works. "Stanger Excavating and Construction worked diligently to stay ahead of schedule, which allowed us to open the road prior to the holiday weekend."

The road had been scheduled to open on Sept. 13. Over the next few weeks some minor delays may occur that will result in the use of flagmen, but the majority of the work is complete.

The Country Club project has resulted in the installation of a new sidepath, sanitary sewer, curb, gutter and storm water system.
