Bloomington, IN - The City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with Indian University's [Eppley Institute for Parks and Public Lands,|http://www.eppley.org/] will conduct random surveys of users of the property known as the ["Goat Farm,"|1767] located at 2000 E. Winslow Rd., now through Nov. 10.

According to Dave Williams, operations and development director for the Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department, the survey is intended to gather opinions from current users of the property about what they think the Goat Farm should be used for in the future. The department hopes to gather a total of 100 surveys.

Williams said the survey includes 10 questions, and takes about 10 minutes to complete. The surveys will be administered in person by students from the Eppley Institute.

The 31½-acre Goat Farm was donated to the Bloomington Parks Foundation by the Sherman Rogers family in 2007. The area has been maintained since then for public recreation and passive greenspace. The single structure on the property is a barn, built by the previous owners, that is currently utilized for storage.

A portion of the [Jackson Creek Trail,|4714] opened in October 2010, extends along Jackson Creek through the east end of the Goat Farm property.

Data from the survey will be compiled by mid-December, and will eventually be used in the development of a project plan for the Goat Farm.
