Bloomington, IN - The City of Bloomington has announced that the Blooming Neighborhood Awards and Celebration will take place Saturday, June 2, 2012. The neighborhood awards will be presented at the Farmer's Market at 10:00 a.m.
The Blooming Neighborhood Awards and Celebration provides the City with a venue to recognize and honor its neighborhoods. The work and commitment of neighborhood volunteers help Bloomington remain a highly livable community.
The Mayor's Excellence Award will be presented to the Crescent Bend Neighborhood with special recognition to Arden Place Neighborhood Association, Broadview Neighborhood Association, McDoel Gardens Neighborhood Association and Old Northeast Downtown Neighborhood Association.

Housing and Neighborhood Development Team of the Year Award will be presented to Grandview Hills Neighborhood Association with special recognition going to Arden Place Neighborhood Association and Crescent Bend Neighborhood Association.
Last year 23 neighborhood organizations attended the Blooming Neighborhood celebration and shared in the camaraderie of their neighborhood projects.
Neighborhoods can sign up for a table upon where they can display their neighborhood information during Saturday's events from 9 a.m. to noon. Bloomington's neighborhoods all have their own distinctive charm that makes for a fun morning of exploring the neighborhoods in our community.
