CITIZEN'S ADVISORY COUNCIL FOR THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT SEEKS NEW MEMBERS FOR 2012-2013

Bloomington, IN - The Citizen's Advisory Council for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) is inviting citizens to serve on the Council for the 2012-2013 grant allocation process. Appointees to the Council attend 5 meetings between November 19th and January 22nd.

The Citizen's Advisory Council allocates the CDBG funds annually.

The City of Bloomington is an entitlement community that receives an annual allocation of CDBG funds from Housing and Urban Development (HUD). An entitlement community is a city or urban community with a population of 50,000 or more which, because of its size, receives CDBG grant funds directly from HUD.

The committee reviews the applications for CDBG funds and recommends the fund distribution to the Redevelopment Commission, the Mayor and the City Council.

To apply go to http://www.bloomington.in.gov/apply or pick up an application in the Office of the City Clerk at 401 N Morton Street (Showers City Hall) Suite 110.

All City Boards and Commissions are citizen staffed and operated, and serve to advise the Common Council and the Administration on issues affecting Bloomington.

Applications, information and a complete list of Board and Commission descriptions are also available at www.bloomington.in.gov/clerk and at the City Clerk's Office in Showers City Hall at 401 N. Morton.
