BEAD to exhibit the work of Kendall Reeves in conjunction with United Way

BLOOMINGTON, IN - The City of Bloomington Entertainment and Arts District (BEAD) will showcase the photography exhibition "Live United" by Kendall Reeves during the month of September in the Showers Atrium of City Hall.

Through these photos the United Way of Monroe County is highlighting the many ways that community members can engage with their community. The "Live United" motto encourages individuals to work together on local issues, and this exhibition serves as a reminder that as a group, citizens have the power to bring about positive and lasting change. The photographs in the exhibition are stories of people who are making an impact as they "Live United."

A reception for the exhibit will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday in the Atrium at City Hall. The exhibit will be on display Sept. 7 to 30. Exhibition hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, as well as additional evening and weekend hours when City Hall is open for meetings.

Kendall Reeves is the owner of Spectrum Studio of Photography & Design and owner of Gallery406. Kendall has photographed people and places around Monroe County for more than 25 years. Located at 116 W. Sixth St., Gallery406 showcases local and regional artists with a focus on photography. Spectrum Studio specializes in commercial photography, graphic design, large-format printing, laminating and mounting services. For more information email kendall@spectrumstudioinc.com.

This project is another effort under the City's strategy to leverage and expand the economic development potential of the arts in Bloomington. According to a 2012 Americans for the Arts study, the local nonprofit arts sector contributes $72.3 million to the economy, including 3,430 jobs.
