Exhibition opportunities available in the atrium at City Hall

Bloomington, Ind. -
The City of Bloomington Entertainment and Arts District (BEAD) is seeking artists for its 2013 Atrium Exhibition Program. Slots are currently available for July, August, September and November. The atrium exhibition space is best suited to two-dimensional works, but three-dimensional works may be considered as well depending on available space.

Exhibitions typically run for one month and public viewing hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, as well as additional evening and weekend hours when City Hall is open for meetings and events.

Artists may submit a digital portfolio of works for consideration to Assistant Economic Development Director for the Arts Miah Michaelsen at michaelm@bloomington.in.gov or call 349.3534 for additional information.

The program is another effort under the City's strategy to leverage and expand the economic development potential of the arts in Bloomington. According to a 2012 Americans for the Arts study, Bloomington's nonprofit arts sector contributes $72.3 million to the local economy annually through direct spending by arts organizations and their audiences. For more information on the study visit www.bloomington.in.gov/arts.
