City now accepting enrollees for 2013 citizenship and naturalization classes

Bloomington, Ind. - Newcomers, English-language learners and permanent residents can learn about becoming a United States citizen through the City's citizenship and naturalization program, which begins on March 26 and ends on April 25. The program meets twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and costs $30. The deadline to register is March 22.

Students study United States history, learn how the government functions and familiarize themselves with the Bloomington community while preparing for the naturalization exam and the process of becoming a citizen.

New citizens and graduates of the class of 2012 will be recognized at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6 during the scheduled City Council meeting.

For more information on class and registration details contact Latino Outreach Coordinator Melissa Britton at 349.3860 or at [mailto:brittonm@bloomington.in.gov].
