Recent Work by Drew Etienne is July Atrium Exhibit

Bloomington, Ind. - During the month of July, the City of Bloomington Entertainment and Arts District (BEAD) will showcase [Drew Etienne's|http://drewetienne.com] recent work in the Showers Atrium of City Hall, 401 N. Morton Street.

Etienne received his BFA in Painting from Indiana University and now lives and works in Bloomington. He has shown locally and nationally, and was recently chosen as a recipient of an Individual Artist Grant by the Indiana Arts Commission. He creates large and small-scale abstract paintings, with elements culled from a host of influences such as the romantic landscapists, optical art, science fiction, video games, analytical cubism, industrialization, architecture, and the rest of the cosmos.

The exhibit will be on display through July 31st. Exhibition hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. as well as additional evening and weekend hours when City Hall is open for meetings.

This project is another effort under the City's strategy to leverage and expand the economic development potential of the arts in Bloomington. According to a 2012 Americans for the Arts study, Bloomington's nonprofit arts sector contributes $72.3 million to the local economy annually through direct spending by arts organizations and their audiences.
