City Announces Applications for Citizens' Academy


Bloomington, Ind. - The City of Bloomington Housing and Neighborhood Development (HAND) Department announced today that applications are available for its 2015 Citizens' Academy program. Citizens' Academy provides participants with an interactive learning experience about municipal government services, programs and responsibilities.


City residents who are interested in civic participation or increasing their knowledge about local government operation can apply or the Citizens' Academy online at [the City of Bloomington's website|/citizensacademy]. The deadline for the 2015 Citizens' Academy session is Monday, July 13.

The 2015 Citizens' Academy will meet every Thursday, 6 - 8 p.m., from Sept. 3 through Oct. 29. This session will be limited to a total of 30 participants to ensure a quality experience for all participants.


Virginia Hall, a graduate of the 2014 class, shared this about her experience, "Don't wait to take this class. You will receive hands-on experience in the complex workings of the City.
