City of Bloomington Utilities' Crew Members Perform Quick Repair of Sanitary Sewer Force Main Leak

Bloomington, Ind. - City of Bloomington Utilities' crew members were called to the 1800 block of North Curry Pike this week to repair a small leak in a sanitary sewer force main.

"The investigation is continuing," said CBU spokesperson Jon Callahan. "One possibility is the force main damage may have been the result of a directional bore at some point in the past. Our crew members used a full seal clamp to repair the leak and removed debris from the area."

The leak was estimated to be 20 gallons and was maintained at the site and did not reach any receiving waters in the area according to Callahan.

The City of Bloomington Utilities is committed to reporting all sanitary sewer overflows and main leaks as part of its commitment to transparency.
