CITY OF BLOOMINGTON ANIMAL CARE AND CONTROL TEAMS UP WITH WTHR CHANNEL 13 (NBC) TO HOST PET ADOPTION DRIVE – CLEAR THE SHELTERS
BLOOMINGTON, INDIANA - (July 1, 2016) - City of Bloomington Animal Care and Control today announced that it has teamed up with WTHR Channel 13-NBC to host the Clear the Shelters pet adoption drive. City of Bloomington Animal Care and Control will offer the public no-cost adoptions on Saturday, July 23, as part of the nationwide Clear the Shelters initiative that seeks to find new homes for homeless pets.
"Everyone in our shelter dreams of the day that we can see our adoption floor empty," Said Virgil Sauder, Director of Animal Care and Control. "We are very excited to participate in the event this year and hope to see our dream become a reality" This year's Clear the Shelters event comes after last year's highly successful inaugural effort, which resulted in nearly 20,000 pets finding new homes through an unprecedented partnership between the NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations and hundreds of animal shelters located all across the country and in Puerto Rico. The nationwide day of action literally emptied dozens of animal shelters across the country and inspired local communities to take action and open their homes to animals in need.
