City of Bloomington Accepting Applications for 2017 Community Development Block Grants

Bloomington, Ind - Applications for the 2017 Community Development Block Grant funds are now available through the City of Bloomington Housing and Neighborhood Development Department.

The City receives Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Local CDBG funded programs are divided into two categories: physical improvements and social services. All activities must principally benefit persons of low and moderate income or eliminate slum or blighted areas.

Organizations interested in submitting proposals for Community Development funding must first submit a "Letter of Intent" to the Housing and Neighborhood Development Department by 4:00 p.m. on October 14, 2016 in order to be considered for funding.

An Informational Meeting for potential applicants who would like to learn more about this process will be held on Thursday September 8, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in the Hooker Room of City Hall at 401 N Morton Street. Questions or comments should be directed to Bob Woolford for physical improvement applications or Dan Niederman for social service funding at the Housing and Neighborhood Development Department, phone 812.349.3401.
