October Mayor at the Market Events

Bloomington, Ind. - "Mayor at the Market" events continue this month with Bloomington Transit Director Lew May hosting this Saturday, October 8 from 10 to 11 a.m. Schedules, the Transit Center, ridership trends and route information will be among the topics May will be happy to discuss. As always, Mayor at the Market takes place on the steps of City Hall and is an informal opportunity for the public to meet City department heads and discuss matters of interest to Bloomington residents and visitors.

The following Saturday, October 15, Utilities Director Vic Kelson will be on hand, also from 10 to 11 a.m., to discuss water purity, the water rate case and any other issues related to the Utilities Department.

On October 22, Communications Director Mary Catherine Carmichael will entertain questions, concerns and suggestions about the City's communications efforts during Market hours. Please join Carmichael from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

To wrap up Fire Prevention Month, Bloomington Fire Chief Jason Moore will take to the Showers Plaza to talk about fire safety, offer tours of some fire equipment on site and take questions about the Bloomington Fire Department. Chief Moore will be present from 10 to 11 a.m.

Mayor at the Market will conclude in November and will be replaced by town hall style meeting opportunities with Mayor John Hamilton and City department heads until the Farmers' Market resumes in the spring of 2017.
