City Wins Award for inRoads Application

Good afternoon,

Please find a press release below announcing and congratulating the 2016 Government Technology Best of Indiana Award Winners. The City of Bloomington's Information Technology Services Department received "Best Application Serving an Organization's Business Needs - Local" for its inRoads application. As a reminder, inRoads is a digital service for managing and publishing road, sidewalk and parking status information. The information shared on the inRoads service includes closings, lane reductions, noise permits and parking reservations. It provides not only current information about road events, but future planned events as well. inRoads streamlines the process of creating and managing road, sidewalk, parking and other location-relevant municipal events (noise permits, etc.). inRoads publishes its data to the web, to email lists and through multiple open data formats. inRoads data can be automatically exported into navigation services such as Waze and Google Maps. inRoads can be found at bloomington.in.gov/inroads.

2016 Best of Indiana Awards Announced

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - October 27, 2016 - The inaugural 2016 Best of Indiana Awards were announced October20 at Government Technology's Indiana Digital Government Summit. The awards are a collaboration between Indiana's Office of Technology and Government Technology. Chief Information Officer for the State of Indiana, Dewand Neely, made the presentation to the winners.

The Best of Indiana Awards recognize state and local government organizations for their standout contributions, best practices and innovations in information technology that improve citizen services.

"Ingenuity, collaboration and a lot of hard work on the part of Indiana government departments have yielded great innovations that are improving government interactions with citizens and improving efficiencies," said Maureen Torncello, National Conference Director for Government Technology. "We are honored to present this year's first annual Best of Indiana winners and recognize their exemplary dedication to enhancing services for Hoosiers."

    INBiz is a one-stop resource for registering and managing business filings and ensuring existing businesses are compliant.
  • Best Application Serving an Agency's Business Needs -- State
    Shield
    Indiana State Police

    Shield is a cross between a Record Management System, Human Resources/Personnel System and Document Repository System. It provides record reporting on Indiana State Police daily trooper activity, charting days off, regular duty, project duty, injury and illness, training, public/community and police action.
