Stuff-A-Bus

During the holiday season, Bloomington Transit is partnering with WCLS 97.7 Classic Hits and the Salvation Army to help make the holidays a little merrier for children and families in need. The goal is to literally "stuff" a decorated BT bus completely full of donated unwrapped new toys, new children's coats, hats, and mittens.

The Stuff-A-Bus will visit a number of shopping centers, retail locations, and businesses throughout the community from December 1 through December 11. To mark the 11th anniversary of Stuff-A-Bus, Bloomington Transit will unveil the festively decorated bus on December 1 at WCLS 97.7 Classic Hits at 2723 North Walnut Street. The 2016 Stuff-A-Bus will feature a colorful holiday motif prominently displayed on the bus exterior.

Stuff-A-Bus is made possible, in part, by volunteers who staff the bus and accept donations. Without this assistance, Stuff-A-Bus would not be possible. We are in need of persons interested in staffing the bus for the dates and times listed below. If anyone is interested in volunteering to staff and accept donations, please call Brenda Underwood at 812-961-0523. Last year, with the help of area stores and a generous community, we were able to collect over 3,500 new toys, stuffed animals, coats, hats, and mittens for area children in need. The donated items will be distributed to 435 families in the Monroe County area that have requested assistance through the Salvation Army. Persons wishing to make a donation to Stuff-A-Bus can drop off their items at the bus during the days and locations listed below. For those who can't make it to the Stuff-A-Bus, items can be dropped off at Bloomington Transit's main office at 130 West Grimes Lane or at WCL at 2723 North Walnut Street.
