Annual State of the City Address Open to Public, Hamilton to Address Challenges and Opportunities

Bloomington, Ind. - Mayor John Hamilton's second State of the City Address will take place on Thursday, February 16 at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater, 114 E. Kirkwood Ave. The address is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend this free event.

Hamilton will highlight the administration's priorities, concerns, challenges and opportunities associated with key city initiatives. Topics will include public safety, affordable housing, the Trades District, Switchyard Park, water quality and citywide broadband, among others. Hamilton will provide an update on his first year in office, describing the changes and progress made during that time, as well as laying out plans for 2017 and beyond.

"I'm eager to update the residents of Bloomington about the current state of our city. Now we have over a year of work under our belts and I'm excited to share what we have achieved so far and what we are working on going forward. I think those attending or watching on CATS can even expect some exciting news to be announced that evening," stated Hamilton.

A reception in the lobby of the theater will immediately follow Mayor Hamilton's remarks.
