Annual Report on Public Safety Presented Tuesday

Bloomington, Ind. - On Tuesday, February 6, Mayor John Hamilton will introduce Police Chief Mike Diekhoff and Fire Chief Jason Moore as they present their second joint Annual Public Safety Report. The event will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Bloomington Police Department, 220 East Third Street. The public is invited to attend.

Chiefs Diekhoff and Moore will share data sets related to current community conditions and the performance of their respective departments, and will discuss what the data can reveal to area residents. Trends in police and fire responses, accomplishments and challenges facing each department will be presented.

"This is the second of our annual public safety reports to the community prior to the annual State of the City address. This special event gives us a chance to focus on the data specific to public safety as well as the trends we see here in Bloomington, and talk about how we are addressing them. Public safety is the number one priority of city government, so I look forward to this opportunity to share the progress and challenges of the previous year," Mayor Hamilton said.

The State of the City Address will be held on Thursday, February 15 at 7:00 p.m. at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater, 114 E Kirkwood Avenue. Again, the public is invited to attend.
