Mayor Hamilton to Host State of the City Address Thursday

Bloomington, Ind. - Mayor John Hamilton will host his third annual public State of the City address on Thursday, February 15 at 7:00 p.m. in the historic Buskirk-Chumley Theater (114 E. Kirkwood Ave.). The theme for this year’s remarks will be “2 years in, 200th anniversary, 2 years ahead.” Doors will open at 6:30.

As has become custom for this event, the evening will include entertainment, this year provided by the Fairview Elementary School Choir and Indiana University Distinguished Professor Emeritus of English and noted author Scott Russell Sanders who will share an original reading.

Mayor Hamilton will highlight the challenges and accomplishments of the City of the past year and speak of plans and goals for the future. In keeping with the year-long celebration of the City’s bicentennial, Hamilton is expected to refer to significant events in the city’s 200-year history.

Everyone is invited to a reception inside the Buskirk-Chumley Theater following Mayor Hamilton’s remarks.
