Bloomington, IN -- Mayor Mark Kruzan announced today that Bloomington has garnered another national recognition by being named a top place to retire by Money Magazine in its May 2011 issue.
Bloomington was among three other cities recognized for their low cost of living, low crime, good hospitals and low taxes. The magazine also noted that Indiana's current fiscal health means tax hikes shouldn't be expected in the near future.
"I'm proud that once again Bloomington is being recognized as a great place to live," Kruzan said. "With our big-city amenities and small town character, it's no wonder people are seeing Bloomington as a wonderful place to live, work and visit."
This recognition continues the stream of positive recognitions Bloomington has received in the past several years. The City's Pick It Up program was recently featured in Midwest Living Magazine's "10 Real-World Ways to Go Green" and Bloomington was included in Livability's "Top 10 College Towns: Great Cities for School and Life After Graduation."
