Bloomington
, IN - The City of Bloomington Animal Care and Control Division has announced the Animal Shelter will partially close to the public beginning today and continuing through Thursday, Feb. 19 in order to renovate the dog kennel floors and perform other necessary cleaning and maintenance tasks.

Renovations will be completed room by room, which will result in the temporary closure of certain areas of the building. However, dog adoptions will proceed as normal and staff will be available to receive telephone requests for assistance. Animal Control Officers also will be available to respond to calls. Cat adoptions and services will not be affected during renovations, and the shelter will resume regular hours of operation on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009.

Due to the reduction in available kennel space during this time, if you are considering relinquishing your dog(s), the Shelter asks that you wait until after February 20 to do so.

If you are interested in temporarily fostering a dog during the renovations, please contact the shelter at 812-349-3492 or visit our website at [www.bloomington.in.gov/animalshelter|www.bloomington.in.gov/animalshelter] to learn more about becoming a foster parent.
