Bloomington
, IN - The City of Bloomington Community Arts Commission (BCAC), in partnership with the Bloomington Entertainment and Arts District (BEAD) and ArtsWeek, will host ArtsEats, a networking brunch for local artists in all disciplines on Sunday, Feb. 28, from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in the atrium of City Hall, 401 N. Morton Street.

ArtsEats represents the BCAC's first formal outreach and networking event. The mission of the nine-member citizen body is to work on behalf of the arts in Bloomington in the areas of advocacy, resources and public art, and initiatives currently underway include biannual arts grants and public art proposals. Most recently The Bloomington Banquet, the B-Line Trail's signature public art piece, was installed in 2009 at Plaza OneA behind City Hall.

ArtsEats is the final event of ArtsWeek, an annual winter festival now in its 26th year that showcases the unique richness of artistic expression in Bloomington. ArtsWeek is sponsored by the City and the Indiana University's Office of the President, Office of the Provost and Office of the Vice Provost for Research.

All Bloomington artists are encouraged to attend ArtsEats. The free event will include a light brunch, entertainment and networking opportunities. Attendees are encouraged to bring a canned good or non-perishable food item for donation to Hoosier Hills Food Bank and must register in advance by contacting Miah Michaelsen, the City's Assistant Economic Development Director of the Arts, at [mailto:michaelm@bloomington.in.gov] or 349-3534. Space is limited.
