Bloomington, IN -- Mayor Mark Kruzan announced today that the City of Bloomington Sanitation Department will resume yard waste collection Monday, Feb. 7 until Thursday, Feb. 17.
"This ice storm has brought down a lot of branches and trees," said Kruzan. "We typically cease yard waste collection in January and February, but getting branches out of the roadway and out of people's yards is a priority for keeping the community livable and safe."
Yard waste paper bags or bundles require a green yard waste sticker. Bags and bundles must be no larger than 35 gallons nor weigh more than 40 pounds. Yard waste cannot be in a plastic bag. Use string to tie branch bundles of no more than four feet by two feet.
For more information contact Shelby Walker, City of Bloomington Director of Sanitation, at 349-3457.
