City of Bloomington Sanitation Services Delayed on Tuesday
Bloomington, Ind. - Due to the anticipated cold temperatures on Tuesday, Jan. 28, the City of Bloomington Sanitation Division has announced that services will operate on a three-hour delay.
After discussions between City administrators and American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Union representatives, the decision to delay, rather than cancel, services was determined to be the best solution for the safety of workers and to provide sanitation services to City residents without changing pickup schedules.
Sanitation workers will begin routes at 8 a.m. instead of 5 a.m. In the event that wind chill temperatures are still outside of set safety guidelines at 8 a.m., the decision to further delay or cancel services will be made at that time.
