City Police Department hosts open house to celebrate 110th Anniversary

Bloomington, IN - The City of Bloomington Police Department (BPD) reminds the community to Be Safe Bloomington at its open house on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at BPD headquarters, 220 E. 3rd Street.

The event, which celebrates the force's 110 years of service to the Bloomington community, will feature tours of the facility, informational presentations by officers, detectives and evidence technicians, and equipment displays from a number of BPD's specialty units. The Critical Response Team, Motorcycle unit, Canine unit and bike patrol will all be on hand to discuss their specific responsibilities and the roles they play in keeping the community safe. Materials about the City's Public Safety Training Center also will be available.
