Bloomington, IN - In a nod to its location just steps from the City of Bloomington Community Farmers' Market, Garage Market, located at 7th and Morton Streets, is set to have food-inspired artwork installed by local artists Amy Brier and Andrew Huddleston in the summer of 2012. The yet to be titled installation will feature LED-lit translucent sculptures in the shape of five locally grown fruits and vegetables. The sculptures will be fabricated of a translucent, hand-dyed resin with stainless steel frames, stems and brackets. This project is the last in the City of Bloomington Entertainment and Art District's (BEAD) "Garage Culture" initiative that began in 2009 with the installation of artwork on both Garage Band and Garage Art.

Amy Brier holds an MFA from Indiana University and currently works with several local organizations, including the Indiana Limestone Symposium. Brier often creates sculptures out of carved limestone and steel but also experiments with wax and resin casting. Andrew Huddleston is currently working on his MFA at Indiana University. He has a studio in Nashville, Ind., where he works with ceramics and hand-forges iron pieces. Huddleston has created numerous functional pieces out of iron, including light fixtures and fountains.
