Community to Celebrate Fiesta del Otoño 2014: Latinos in Indiana

Bloomington, Ind. - The City of Bloomington Latino Outreach Program is collaborating with the Indiana University Latino Enhancement Cooperative to celebrate the Ninth Annual Fiesta del Otoño 2014: Latinos in Indiana.

From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20, in conjunction with the Bloomington Community Farmer's Market, the community will celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month with various festive activities celebrating Fiesta del Otoño.

The children's station will include facepainting, artistic crafts and games. Performing artists will include: Avenida Brazil, Diana Velazquez and Ritmos Latinos. Various community and university organizations will also be hosting information tables.

In addition, the City of Bloomington's Commission on Hispanic and Latino Affairs will recognize the recipients of the annual National Hispanic Heritage Month Leadership Awards and will present their "Learn to Earn" medals for excellent academic achievement to Latino students in grades 6 through 12.

This event, and all National Hispanic Heritage month events, are free and open to the public.

The events are presented by collaboration of the City of Bloomington Latino Outreach Program, Indiana University Latino Enhancement Cooperative and Old National Bank.
