Bloomington, IN - The City of Bloomington and Keller & Keller law firm announced today that the City's Fire Department (BFD) is one of two in Indiana to receive a donation of the latest vehicle extrication rescue tools available to firefighters.

The new tool, a BEAST Multi-Tool Cutter/Spreader manufactured by Champion Rescue Tools, was donated by the law firm as part of its community-based giving program. Keller & Keller purchased and donated the machine, used to remove victims quickly from auto accidents, to Bloomington and Switz City, and BFD Chief Roger Kerr says it will help rescue personnel save precious minutes during rescues.

"Getting victims out of five-star, crash-rated cars is taking longer with older extrication tools, which weren't made to cut through the sophisticated metals used in the safest new vehicles," Kerr said. "The donation of Champion Rescue Tools by Keller & Keller will allow Bloomington's firefighters to cut through these new metals much faster, making sure we can quickly attend to victims and get them to the hospital if needed."

Jim Keller, Managing Partner of Keller & Keller, said the idea stemmed from the firm's long-standing support of Samantha's House Foundation, an organization dedicated to aiding those seriously injured in auto accidents.

"We've been searching for donation opportunities to help mitigate these types of serious injuries, and that led us to the Champion Rescue Tools and these two Indiana fire rescue services," said Jim Keller, Managing Partner at Keller & Keller. "We chose Bloomington because of the department's reputation for professionalism and dedication to the community, and we're excited to partner with BFD on this very important project."

Keller & Keller, [www.2keller.com|www.2keller.com], is a personal injury law firm that has operated in Indiana, Michigan and New Mexico since 1936. The firm maintains a national presence strictly devoted to personal injury cases such as car accidents, truck accidents, motorcycle accidents, wrongful death and medical malpractice cases.
