Public Invited to City of Bloomington Council for Community Accessibility Awards Ceremony

, IN -- The City of Bloomington Council for Community Accessibility Annual Awards Ceremony will take place on Monday, Oct. 25 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Chapman's Banquet Center, 4506 E. Third Street in Bloomington. The public is invited to attend and join in recognizing those who make our community better for people with disabilities.

The program consists of light hors d'oeuvres, desserts and music at 6:30 p.m. followed by a keynote presentation by John Dickerson, Executive Director of The ARC of Indiana. The awards will be presented at 7:30 p.m., culminating in the presentation of the Mayor's Award, presented by Mayor Mark Kruzan and sponsored by Ivy Tech Community College.

"I encourage the community to come out to the ceremony and help recognize the people who help improve accessibility in our community," said Mayor Mark Kruzan. "They are big contributors to making Bloomington the great place that it is."

The awards ceremony is supported by Bloomington Hospital, Chapman's, the City of Bloomington Human Rights Commission, Cook Group Incorporated, Indiana University Credit Union, Ivy Tech Community College, Kiwanis Club of Bloomington, Inc., Barbara McKinney, Oliver Wine Company, Inc., Options, Southern Indiana Center for Independent Living and Stone Belt Arc, Inc.
