Bloomington
, IN - During the month of October, the City of Bloomington Entertainment and Arts District (BEAD) will present a retrospective exhibit celebrating the 50th anniversary of Stone Belt Arc, a Bloomington nonprofit organization that provides education and support to persons with disabilities.

The exhibit will include two-dimensional posters and informational panels reflecting on the work of the organization over its lifetime. Visitors can see Stone Belt's development over the decades and learn more about the organization's history and impact on the Bloomington community.

Stone Belt Retrospective
will be on exhibit beginning Monday, Oct. 2, and will run to the end of the month. The exhibit can be viewed from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays and 9:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays in the Atrium of City Hall, 401 North Morton Street.

Stone Belt was founded in 1959 by nine families dedicated to building opportunities for their children. In the last half-century, the services offered by the organization have expanded to include residential programs, employment resources, life skills and vocational training, a professional art studio, and clinical services, all of which enable individuals with disabilities to live self-determined lives.

The City of Bloomington is committed to providing opportunities for Bloomington and area artists to exhibit artwork in Atrium. For more information, contact Miah Michaelsen, the City's Assistant Economic Development Director for the Arts, at michaelm@bloomington.in.gov or 812-349-3534.
