THE CITY OF BLOOMINGTON UTILITIES DEPARTMENT TO IMPLEMENT NEW BILLING SYSTEM
Bloomington, IN - The City of Bloomington Utilities Department has announced a new billing system for metered water and sewer, and for stormwater services will be put into action beginning with the bills received by customers in June 2012, for May 2012 usage. "Switching to the New World System reflects our commitment to being more efficient from an employee standpoint while helping our customers conduct business in a more convenient manner," said CBU Director Patrick Murphy.
The New World System offers customers the convenience of making payments at the Utilities website www.bloomington.in.gov/utilities with a credit or debit card. Customers will also have real time access to their account information using their last name and a new account number that will appear on their first bill under the new system. Murphy indicated new features will be introduced in the future such as e-billing and detailed graphs on bills which can be useful in formulating conservation efforts.
Murphy said customers will be notified in advance of the transition to the new billing system.
CBU customers with questions related to the new billing system are encouraged to call the Utility's Customer Relations Department during regular business hours at (812) 349-3930. Questions can also be e-mailed to utilities.ar@bloomington.in.gov.
