The City of Bloomington is working with consulting firm Toole Design Group to develop a multimodal transportation plan. The plan will be used to help prioritize transportation projects, to determine right-of-way widths, and to shape transportation in our community for years to come.

Are there transportation changes you want to see in the community? Places you want to see improved? New connections you want to see? This plan is the place for your ideas.

Both meetings are available to watch on CATS, which can be found online here

Share you ideas:

Please use the Survey and Wiki Map link to take the online survey and map your ideas. On the WikiMap, you can note areas that are difficult for walking or bicycling, high traffic areas, places you think need improved connectivity and more. If you click off of the survey, it will disappear. If you need to reference a map, it is best to do that in a separate tab or window.

  • The survey will close on February 21, 2018

Next Steps:

The consultants will review all of the input received. A summarized version will be presented at the next meeting on Thursday, January 25, 2018. At that meeting, you have the opportunity to let them know if they're on the right track. After Thursday's meetings, the consultants will synthesize the input they've received, analyze the data, and move forward creating a draft Transportation Plan for the City of Bloomington. The plan will reflect the goals and vision of the Comprehensive Plan, and it will recommend best practices to help our City continue to move forward.

The draft Transportation Plan will be publicly available in approximately May 2018. From there, we will schedule more meetings for public review and input. Stay tuned!

Finally, after the plan is reviewed, it will be presented to the Plan Commission and City Council for review, comment, and approval. We aim for this process to take place in the summer of 2018.
