Reminder: Choose Your Carts for Modernized Trash/Recycling Collection

Bloomington, Ind. - As a reminder, it’s time for City of Bloomington residents to choose their cart sizes for the modernized automated trash and recycling collection system set to begin this fall.  The carts will replace the current cans and bins used for trash and recycling disposal. Every City household currently receiving curbside service from the City will be provided with one recycling and one solid waste cart for weekly recycling and trash pick-up. Cart size options are 35, 64 and 96 gallons.

Cart choices can be made online at bloomington.in.gov/sanitationmodernization until the end of the day on Sunday. Mailed requests should be postmarked by June 17th.

Those with questions are encouraged to call 812-349-3410 and speak to a Public Works representative during business hours.

Additional information including pricing, a list of frequently asked questions and an easy to complete cart choice form can all be found at http://bloomington.in.gov/sanitationmodernization
