Softball Leagues and COVID-19

The Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department has put safety measures in place to slow the spread of COVID-19. However, we cannot guarantee you or members of your family will not contract an illness. By participating in or attending this event or program, you voluntarily assume the risk of exposure or infection, and resulting illness or death.

Please do your part!

  • If you are sick, or have any symptoms of COVID-19, please stay home.
  • Practice physical distancing by staying at least 6 feet away from others.
  • The use of face masks is strongly recommended.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly and often; cough or sneeze into your elbow; avoid touching your face.


Bloomington Parks and Recreation Spring/Summer Adult Softball League safety measures include:

  • Catchers are to be 6 feet behind home plate
  • Umpires are to be 6 feet behind catcher or as far back as possible
  • No bleacher seating- fans are to bring their own chairs
  • Maximum 5 players in a dugout at any time; other players remain outside dugout along fence
  • Umpires - face masks provided (optional)
  • Site Supervisors - use of face masks required
  • Hand sanitizer available at Site Supervisor station
  • Dugouts to be cleaned/sanitized daily


Co-Rec, Men's, and Women's Leagues: $675 for 10 games
March 1-April 5: Teams register online (including tentative roster).
League play begins the week of April 18.

Bloomington Parks and Recreation offers USA Softball-sanctioned leagues designed to accommodate all levels of play. Games are played at the Twin Lakes Sports Park.

USA Softball rules apply with local modifications as stated in the Adult Softball League Handbook. The Adult Softball League Handbook and other valuable information can be found using the links below.

Choose a day and league from the information below. Staff reserves the right to adjust league placement if necessary. After registering online, pay a minimum deposit of half the league fee. League fee payment instructions, final payment due date, final roster due date, manager's meeting date, and master game schedules will be sent via email following online registration. All teams that register and pay the full team fee by the registration deadline will be eligible for a drawing at the manager's meeting to win a Worth bat.

*Teams in Co-Rec Rec or Men's Rec leagues are allowed no more than two male players with a USA Softball player classification of D or higher on the roster.
**Women's league will use a weighted schedule (higher level teams will play each other more often).
