The Sanitation Division of the Public Works Department provides curbside collection of trash, recycling and yard waste to single-family residences that are within the city limits. It also provides trash collection from City parks, municipal parking lots and a number of City operated facilities. ***Please Note: all holiday wrapping paper is NOT recyclable and cannot be placed in your recycling containers.
- Schedule a large item/appliance or extra Friday pick-up collection by completing this on-line form
- Christmas tree collection will occur between January 4-28, 2021. Please have your trees placed on the curb, clear of all ornaments and decorations (and not placed in a bag), by 5:00 AM on your assigned yard waste day.
- Yard waste collection program is suspended between January 1 and April 1, 2021.
2021 Holiday Delays:
- There will be a one day delay in Sanitation services following only Thanksgiving Day (11/25/21). Sanitation customers should place their waste and recycling carts on the curb by 5:00 a.m. one day after this holiday. Normal trash and recycling operations are in place with no service delays for ALL other holidays (i.e. MLK Day, Memorial Day, Presidents Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, etc.).

Trash & Yard Waste Pickup
The City of Bloomington provides weekly curbside service collections of trash and recycling (and bi-weekly yard waste collection between April and December) to residences within the city limits.
