Authorizing the Allocation of the Jack Hopkins Social Services Program Funds for the Year 2014 and other Related Matters.

This resolution brings forward the recommendations of the Jack Hopkins SocialServices Funding Program Committee for 2014. The principal task of theCommittee is to recommend funding for local social services agencies which offerproposals consistent with program criteria. From 1993-2013, the City expendedapproximately $3.14 million dollars to local social services programs. Funding forthe Jack Hopkins program has increased every year and has more than doubledsince 2004. In 2014, the program was increased to $266,325. The resolutionallocates the social services funds to 21 agency programs (including onecollaborative project), approves the funding agreements with these agencies,accepts the report of the Committee, authorizes the chair of the Committee toresolve any questions regarding the interpretation of the agreements, and alsoauthorizes the chair of each year’s Committee to appoint the Committee’srepresentatives from other City entities.
