Thank you for the notification. The fencing is indeed in violation of historic preservation guidelines. Monitoring and action is being taken by the City. Best, Eric
Other: This "temporary" fence has gone up every weekend since the end of August 2017, and the photo here is from today (Sat.Sept.16). It is held up by begs of sand or concrete(?), and pails with cinderblocks on them. The fence is made of plywood boards not attached to each other but resting on the aforesaid "supports". As the boards are large and heavy, it is likely they could hurt someone should they tip over during one of the many loud parties the fence enables. The fence also enables the partiers to avoid being seen by the police when passing by looking for the source of the loud parties and allows the partiers to espy the police cars coming to shut down their parties. Please inform the occupants of the house that they should not erect this fence, not only for the danger to passersby and to themselves, but because they requested permission to build such a fence from the Bloomington Historic Preservation Commission in June 2017 and permission was refused.
Most tickets of this type should be closed within 9 days, although some cases may be longer. 1 days have already passed.
