Don Porter, Traffic Division, stated that the sign was called in missing on April 28, 1997. The Traffic Division had to make a new street marker. This street marker sign is taken at least 5 times a year. Porter decided to wait until after the I.U. students left, plus the time to have to make the sign, to install a new one. A new street marker was installed on 5/15/97. This will probably continue to be a problem. Porter is trying to work on different ideas in keeping the sign up permanent
