The timing on the lights at Covenanter and College Mall Road have been changed and it is creating a huge traffic jam. The lights for traffic on Covenanter have been shortened to approximately 5 seconds for the left turn and 12 seconds for the green light. Please retime these lights immediately.
7th Street, east of campus, has a stretch where the foliage of a yard has overgrown into the eastbound bicycle lane. (At some points during the summer, it was long enough to brush the sides of vehicles NOT in the bike lane). This causes bicycles to veer out into the single vehicular traffic lane, and I've seen several near misses.

I live on the Waterman section of W. 8th Street. A few years ago, before the city repaved our road, there were yellow center lines and also marked roadside parking spaces. When will the city repaint those lines? It has been a few years already. We have an issue of people speeding on our road, which they do by driving down the center of it regardless of oncoming traffic, pedestrians, and bicyclists. I think the speeding was less of an issue back when the road lines were painted because those lines prevented people from driving down the middle of the road like they do now. I think repainting the center lines and the parking spot lines, we could actually solve the speeding problem.
Hello, I live in an apartment complex on 8th and Grant street on the 3rd floor, and my window overlooks a particular intersection on the corner of E. 9th street and Grant St. My desk is right in front of the window, and I often see near collisions at this intersection, sometimes multiple times a day and hear them when people honk. I have seen two actual car crashes at this intersection in the past month, including one today (the first one was on 9/3/16 ). 9th street is a one way, and there is no stop sign, so people will often speed through it and traffic on Grant cannot stop in time or they do not see the other vehicle due to vehicles parked on 9th street. I truly believe that there needs to be a stop sign installed on 9th street at this intersection to get people to be more careful. I hope to hear back from someone regarding this issue, if possible. I drive for Uber/Lyft in Bloomington. The number of stop signs that I have noticed that are blocked or partially blocked by foliage is approximately one in very ten. I stop at roughly 500 of these signs per 9 hour shift ant it is dangerous. Also the smaller alleys have so much over growth that they scratch the side of the vehicles. Does Bloomington not have a forestry division with a chainsaw or two to fix both these hazards.
With students returning, I've noticed an uptick in traffic speeding down North Washington between 12th and 10th street. I feel like the problem is only going to increase as the new apartment building at 714 N Walnut is completed. With several children that play in the neighborhood, I'm concerned with their safety. Can traffic calming measures be investigated for this area?
The one lane road sign really needs to be placed further back on 3rd street. I was just out in front of Rawles Hall and Swain east/west and was almost hit by a car that was trying to go around 2 other cars!!! He did go up on the curb and barely missed a tree that i was standing by. If he had hit that tree his car and the tree would have fell on to me and my friend. There was also an accident earlier this week due to people not knowing they need to go into one lane. Please move the sign or add another sign at the top f the hill so when drivers are at the light at 3rd & Woodlawn they know to start getting over. Thank you! ~Chawnn
