Resident of The Stands reports that the stop sign exiting her cul-de-sac has faded so much that STOP is barely readable. As well, the streetlight in the cul-de-sac has begun to flicker, and when it's off the area is very dark.
The request is actually from the owner of 1425 S. Madison Street for "No Parking" in front of his house. The curb is currently painted 20' back from the intersection & 5' on either side of his driveway. This leaves only 22-24' (1 car space) in front of his house. XJD Properties recently purchased prop. at 321 W. Hillside Drive. At shift change there are several cars that come off of Hillside onto Madison and if anyone is parked there they are almost hit. Most residents have off street pkg.
Barbara Daniels called to inform us that the intersection of Third and Walker is obstructed by large shrubs, trees, and a tall fence that make it unable for motorists to see to get onto Third. She wasn't sure of the private residence's address, but wanted the City to do something about it.
Mr. Craig would like to have speed humps installed on Thomson Park Drive. There are no stop signs on this stretch of road from Countryside Lane to the Park area. People speed through this area and it will be worse now that the children are out of school.
Mitchell stated that there is only one "No Parking" sign located in front of 1400 (the south side of street). The street is very narrow and traffic should not be allowed on both sides. The house to the south of 1402 is possibly a rental and vehicles are parking on the north side causing a dangerous situation. Could there be "No Parking" on the north side also. Please note the Utilities Dept. did work in this area recenlty.
Sudbury states that people are travelling 60 MPH down Weimer Road. There were two accidents in the past week. She has contacted the Police Department and they have sent out officers but they only drive up and down the road. They need to have the officers stay out there and write tickets. She is possibly interested in traffic calming of some type.
Signs have been put up for Walnut Creek development which are causing a line of sight problem.
Mr. Brewer called to find out what could be done to minimize traffic on Henderson St. and find out if Henderson St. is a permissible route for trucks to use, particularly City trucks.
