Regarding #213613 and some others that would be time consuming for me to find. - The city's approval of the 2024 high-density redevelopment on the 300 block of N. Jefferson Street has created a severe, entirely predictable neighborhood parking crisis that requires immediate action, not bureaucratic delay. By transitioning this corridor to RM zoning in 2021, the planning department allowed small single-family homes to be replaced by massive multi-room apartments, skyrocketing the local population from roughly 20 to over 80 residents. Because the rear parking lots are fundamentally inadequate for this density, the city is now dragging out on-street permit authorizations while claiming to "look at the issue." This gridlock is unacceptable. Rather than stalling, the city should immediately coordinate with Indiana University to absorb this student-driven overflow. We suggest requiring or incentivizing the residents of these new complexes to utilize IU parking permits for the nearby Eigenmann Hall parking lot, which sits just a block away, effectively shifting the vehicle burden off neighborhood streets and onto the campus infrastructure designed to handle it.

The box actually is on W Bloomfield road in the grass , but very close to Williams. I quote: UDO 20.01.010 b) (7) Purpose of the UDO: 'Preserve and enhance the scenic beauty, aesthetics and environmental integrity of the city. ' Here is another example of how this situation is not in agreement with the UDO. AT& T, get your act together and remove all those possibly hazardous junction boxes asap.

Most Recent Incident Report: Downtown Terminal SafetyAround 6:30 AM, while waiting for the 3 East bus, I experienced a severe safety issue at the downtown terminal. The building was locked, forcing commuters onto the outdoor platform in the pitch black. I was one of only two women present, surrounded by ten or more men with bed rolls and duffel bags loitering with no intention of boarding a bus. Men constantly emerged from and disappeared into the adjacent alleys and around dark corners. I was purposely avoiding the bench to stand alone away from everyone, but one man went well out of his way to repeatedly walk directly in front of and behind me to test my boundaries. I faced intense, intimidating staring and was forced to stare him down to protect myself.Systemic Context & Ongoing Safety ConcernsThis is not an isolated event; it is a daily, terrifying pattern. Transit drivers are hired to drive buses, and hospitality workers are simply trying to get to their jobs. We are pillow flippers and burger flippers, not paid or volunteer social workers, crisis managers, investigators, or martial artists. It is entirely unfair to dump people who clearly need specialized supervision onto a bus station. Just because the city already owns the transit center does not mean it can use it to avoid paying for a proper heating and cooling shelter. The city cannot just assume that everyday commuters will act as the default safety net to call 911 whenever someone has a medical issue or an episode. Every day, women are forced to arrive at work with their hearts racing due to a total lack of security, poor facility management, and a hostile environment. While I have empathy for everyone's situation, paying riders should not have to navigate an unsupervised gauntlet just to use public transit.

Why can't the City urge AT@T to remove the many junction boxes like this one, which are all over town and may pose an electrical hazard to man and beast?

In light of the great news on national security and the border. When are you going to stop supporting your surrender boycott notice of sb1070 and repeal it. Stop acting like commies and repeal it.
