Sidewalks, drainage grates and side-paths are covered in leaves, twigs, tree debris, limbs, rocks. Some drainage grates are almost completely blocked with debris. This problem is from the roundabout West to the fly-over to Vernal Pike.
The pavement is caving in on both sides of the storm inlet. ground under pavement washing away.
I've been meaning to report for some time. During major rain events stormwater rushes into my basement in through the sanitary sewer drain. The last time was June 2021 and storm water poured in for 8-10 hours solid. Luckily I have installed a sump pump that kept the overall water level manageable. I've lived at this address for 10+ years and this problem has occurred 3-5 times total. It only happens when the storm water system is overwhelmed. I believe the same happens for my neighbors. Is there anything I can do to prevent more back flow during major rain events?
This storm drain is full of debris. I have attempted to clean it out, but to no avail. The curb and pavement surrounding it are also deteriorating and probably contributing to the issue. This street sees a lot of stormwater and this drain backs up quite a bit during heavy rain... This photo was taken 1/30 with only very light precipitation. The adjacent storm ditch pipe may also be clogged? I hope this can be repaired soon (prior to spring). It has been in this condition for at least 4 years and multiple neighbors have voiced concerns in the past.
Subsidence Small, still in its beginning stage. Observation; this not your first, second or even the third sewer grate to repaired in this neighborhood. Can I ask the question if it is a Mfg. defect in their storm grate design, or an installation issue. The metal covering over the storm drain in the "round about" has come off. The cover is in the street and the hole is open. The drain looks clogged with mud and debris. There is also a big hole. Kids play in this grassy area. This uncovered drain is a broken leg waiting to happen. The metal cover in the street is a hazard.
Hello. I am currently renting a duplex unit at 1701 S Buffstone Ct. Per my landlord, the city is responsible for maintaining the ditches that line E Thornton Dr. There is a lot of debris in the ditches at the moment. When it rains a lot, the ditches fill up with water, and sometimes overflow. Can you please clean up debris from the ditches that line the cul-de-sac? With renting a property, I am not eligible to purchase flood insurance, and so I would greatly appreciate your attention to this matter. Thank you!
