I have traveled High Street between Arden Rd. and 3rd Street twice a day for the last ten years. Every time there is a heavy rain, water accumulates and flows down High Street between E. Mores Pike and 2nd St. forcing me to move to the other lane to avoid going through large amounts of water creating a very unsafe situation. I was delighted to see this section of High Street repaved last summer and noticed the sewers also being worked on. I assumed, incorrectly, that the runoff problem would be corrected during this maintenance project. Since the paving the runoff has actually gotten worse. Are there plans to fix this unsafe situation so cars can travel safely on High Street without endangering drivers and pedestrians? I regularly see in the Herald Times where is city is allocating and spending money on hiking and biking trails, sidewalks and various pedestrian conveniences. All the storm water runoff from the White Oak Cemetery basin, during very hard rains, cannot be handled by the 4-storm drains near the intersection of 7th and Oak Streets. The excess is diverted through the gravel parking of our neighbor at 1025 W 7th, washing the gravel onto the street. The storm water then turns and washes through the alley between 6th & 7th Streets. It then goes through our carport and yard washing our mulch away in places. Oak street was paved in the past and is higher than the storm drain at 7th and Oak so any excess water has do go through the gravel parking instead of down the street. I would be happy to meet someone to look at this problem. Thanks.

The entire street on Olive between Thornton and Miller has flooded with BLACK WATER yet again damaging 5 properties. The flooding is more severe due to the regrettable actions the city took to dump excess asphalt into the low point in the road. It's 2 am so I will not be photographing until dawn, but let me assure you, severe damage has been done by the city of Bloomingtons willful neglect of this area. We were promised a fix last year, and now during a quarantine we are flooded with BLACK WATER.

https://bloomington.in.gov/crm/tickets/view?ticket_id=167365 I just opened a new ticket for the most recent flood, but I am appalled by the response "I want to try something" neglectful attitude that has led to BLACK WATER flooding during a quarantine. We are unable to deal with this extent of damage without compromising ourselves and the community.

This stormwater conduit that drains the Cascades neighborhood is compromised - tall weeds grow every season in several areas where the cement has crumbled away over the years. I have reported this before and requested a repair, however the response was to patch a few of the larger missing areas with asphalt. This is not a sufficient conduit to manage the volume of stormwater that flows from uphill. Especially since this is a very uneven surface, stormwater is not adequately managed at this point.

We had our basement flood (wet carpet in half the basement) on January 20, 2017 without any previous sign of leakage on that side of the house. The source of the water is unclear, but I'm wondering if the home (built ca. 1973) has a footer drain connected to the storm drain. Kevin Potter is coming out to inspect for structural damage at 2 pm today (1/25/17) The city storm drain was updated within the past two years with the new pipe starting at the down-slope corner of our property. The neighbor two houses up-slope from us discharges a lot of water from his property and had excavation work done near the end of his french drain on the 18th or 19th. Part of this work involved off and onloading a sizeable backhoe in front of our driveway near where the old and new drain pipe would be joined. I'm not sure what work the neighbor had done. In addition to his drainage, the neighbor immediately down slope from us was also draining his pool into the storm drain on what had been a very rainy week. Is it possible to send a city employee out to see whether some combination of these activities has caused the drainage system to fail or otherwise backflow into our house? Thanks!

I do not know if this is a problem, but Longfei restaurant is dumping various kinds of restaurant waste and wastewater into the storm drain in the alley between Longfei and Trinity church. The drain is clearly labeled "no waste", but they are indifferent to this.

The city has come out and measured several times for a culvert to be installed in front of my driveway. The problem is that the street is higher than my driveway and this house is at the bottom of a hill. When it rains all the debris from the street and houses above me come into my driveway. There is so much water that my basement can flood and the water level can easily reach several feet deep. I have at the moment blocks of stones in front of my driveway so that the debris and water keeps going down Mitchel street instead of blocking the small drainage grates that are in driveway. Today and always when there's been heavy rain over the last years, 1st Street floods in our stretch, because there's no drain in the block between Stull and Fess Ave. where we are. At our house, the water hits the curb of the alley in such a way that the entire grass patch and side way is flooded, making it dangerous to walk on the side way. I'm attaching a picture of now, when the rain has already become more steady. I can provide a number of short videos we've taken over the years to document the problem. Please, consider installing a drain or let us know what can be done about this. It is dangerous for us, our toddler son and our visitors. Thank you!
