Greetings. We need moving violation enforcement and an increase in people who can do traffic law enforcement. Can someone in BPD as well as OOTM please read this article and consider how the City of Bloomington may work to make their streets actually safe and civil... Please take note of the quote about their goal. I think Bloomington needs to make the goal of public safety a top and most important priority! This is what the city of New Orleans is doing to help their police department with their staff shortages. 'They will have duties such as monitoring phone and online reports, issuing traffic citations, surveying major events like Mardi Gras and the Essence Festival and even doing some investigative work. Civilians would additionally be dispatched to calls that may not require an officer, such as collecting preliminary evidence, securing loose pets and responding to forgery, certain medical episodes and some thefts, New Orleans Police Superintendent Shaun Ferguson said last Thursday. 'The goal of all of this is to make our officers feel safe so that they can make our citizens and visitors feel safe,' Ferguson said. 'This is also to reduce some of the workload currently placed on our patrol and district personnel. But more importantly this is designed to reduce response time and address the backlogs in which we have in some of our districts.'" City needs to install a delineator along the dedicated bike lane that spans 3rd street between Emerson Ave & Indiana Ave. An extremely unsafe traffic pattern is forming where motorists are unsafely pulling into the bike lane hundreds of time a week, constantly causing near-misses and even some small accidents. This is a really bad accident waiting to happen.

Hello, I have lived at 410 West Dodds Street, between Rogers and Madison since 2001. I'm very happy here and would like to stay in this neighborhood. My mom lives at 302 West Dodds. One thing that has always been a concern to me and my family on this street how fast people drive on it. For some reason they they use the area between the B-line crossing and Rogers to step hard on the gas. I've emailed with the Mayor a few times over the years about this and have called the police a few times. Police driving by more often a few times does not help. With the new businesses on this street and the increased foot traffic (that I'm happy about) safety is becoming even more of a concern. Finally, my suggestion: Will you please direct me to the process of applying for speed bumps on this street? It would be much safer. I guarantee that most people in my neighborhood would vote for it. Hello. I am the property manager for Tamarron HOA. There is a cross walk to Univeristy Elementary School from Tamarron. We are having issues with speeding vehicles and children crossing the street. At the HOA board meeting tonight it was suggested putting a three way stop sign at the intersection of Callery Drive and Tamarron Drive to at least slow the traffic down. Who do we contact about this? One Board member brought up if there is a stop sign on the north end of Callery Drive and Tamarron Drive, it will re-route cars down the south side of Tamarron so maybe installing two stop signs at each end of Callery Drive and Tamarron Drive. "Head start" for pedestrians. Use the NYC trick, give walkers a 7 second head start before turning the light green. This intersection, the one on the bypass and 10th, and the Kirkwood Walnut crosswalk are just 3 places drivers ignore pedestrians as they only look at cars so they can make right turns. Please. They're going to run us over. Look at Saturdays NYtimes.

wondering if you might consider bike lanes or a widened shoulder next time north Kinser Pike is repaved. It's a popular route to reach the Bottoms and as a driver and biker, I'd appreciate the added safety.

To Whom it May Concern, I am an IU Student living in Jackson Heights. I choose to take the bus 2-3 times a day to get to my classes, in an effort to be environmentally conscious. The nearest bus stop is on 17th street past the gas station. There isn't any crosswalk/crosswalk lights on any side of the corner I have indicated. This puts myself, as well as any other pedestrian, at risk of being seriously injured. I've been in Bloomington since August and have, thankfully, avoided getting into any incident. However, I have just heard from my roommate, that she almost got hit by a car, as the driver wasn't paying attention and it's tricky for a pedestrian to decide when to cross when there aren't any indications to do so. I am really hoping a solution can be reached. I'd also appreciate any feedback on any way I can assist to help avoid a tragic situation. Thank you for your time, Yasmine El-Gohary
