It is difficult to see traffic coming from the left when attempting to turn from Telluride onto Arlington in either direction. It is also difficult to see traffic from the right when turning left on to Arlington from the new SR 45/46 bypass exit. With the speed limit at 40 mph and people driving faster than 40 mph, both of these areas are dangerous to pull out from. Would it be possible to reduce the speed limit or at least add some signs to let traffic on Arlington know to watch for people pulling out? Thanks!

I would like to suggest adding a designated pedestrian crossing at this location. This area is frequently used by students and other pedestrians traveling to and from the IU campus. There are also churches, mosques, and residential areas nearby, which contribute to regular pedestrian activity.
Crossing the street at this location can be difficult and unsafe because 3rd Street carries heavy traffic. The situation becomes especially challenging because vehicles coming from S. Rose Avenue are also merging into or crossing the traffic on 3rd Street. With pedestrians trying to cross at the same location, there are several movements happening at once, which can create a potentially dangerous situation.
A clearly designated pedestrian crossing, along with appropriate signs, signals, or other pedestrian safety measures, would make this area much safer and more accessible. Given the proximity to the university, residential neighborhoods, and places of worship, I believe improving pedestrian access at this location would benefit both students and the surrounding community.

Very poor sight lines at the intersection of S Highland Ave and E Winslow Rd. Perhaps that should be a 3-way stop?

The intersection of E Hillside Drive and Woodlawn Ave (leading to Bryan Park) is dangerous. Many cars back up at this intersection, coming from the university or the park, to turn on E Hillside Drive. With E Hillside Drive funneling so much traffic in both directions, people tend to take whatever openings they can get, often not following standard traffic laws (such as yielding to whoever was there first). This intersection would highly benefit from a stop sign. There was a dangerous accident there this morning (see attached photo), where a car flipped upside down from the impact.

Ever since the turn lanes on 3rd were changed, people have been trying to turn from the opposite direction's turn lane (ie, they are trying to turn into Burger King area while stopped in and blocking the left turn lane to Curry Pike). They not only block traffic for people trying to use their correct turn lane, but I have also witnessed multiple near misses for head on collisions at this spot. It would be nice to get a set of barrier poles like the ones in front of the Arby's.

Please paint the new speedbump on rogers bright yellow or with stripes. I do not think that the signs are visible enough, especially at night.

Since Rogers St. is closed between 3rd and 2nd St. please consider closing the left turn lane approaching the intersection the 3rd and Rogers St. from the east. Drivers of vehicles are uncertain how to safely proceed when cars are in all three lanes since they are unable to make a left turn. Thank you for your consideration of this request.

Feedback for the pedestrian push button in front of the Bloomington Transit Center building: I think it would be helpful to have a button to cross W 3rd St facing the larger portion of the sidewalk. As a pedestrian, I am particularly aware of not getting too close to corners of sidewalks until my time to cross is ready, especially corners with low curbs that busses and trucks need to take tightly against the sidewalk in order to make the turn.

Can the speed limit be reduced near the entrance of Switchyard Park on S. Rogers Street? This is an entrance to the city's largest park and there will be a pedestrian crossing built that will also cross S. Rogers Street, to the park entrance. Currently, the speed is 30 mph, which will be too fast for a pedestrian crossing and the current busy park entrance. Per City Ordinance 18-09, the speed is reduced on Winslow Rd around Allendale Dr. to accommodate for the pedestrian crossing that is near a city park.
Other examples of reduced speed near park entrances includes (but not limited to): S. Highland Ave near Winslow Sports Complex and E. Morningside Dr. near Park Ridge East Park.
