201-257 North Union Street

This request is for one additional No Parking sign on Union Street, just north of 7th Street. Bloomington Municipal Code 15.32.080 describes a No Parking zone on the west side of Union Street spanning from 7th to 175 feet north of 7th St. Currently this area has a yellow painted curb; however, when there is snow, the curbs are covered. I have spoken with Parking, who states they are unable to ticket when the yellow curbs are covered. I am asking that you please erect one (or more) No Parking sign to cover this particular No Parking zone. When vehicles park in this region, it makes it very difficult for vehicle to see traffic approaching from the north when turning from the west part of 7th onto Union St. I live on the SE corner of 7th & Union and often hear cars honking due to near-collisions—presumably due to poor visibility. I also drive a transit bus for IU; even in the bus, it is very difficult to see traffic approaching from the north.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions regarding my inquiry. Again, this is already a codified no parking zone with yellow curb paint; I'm just asking that a No Parking sign be erected so that it remains enforceable when snow obscures curbs.

We have cars flying down Ruby Ln heading to High Street. Our house is on the corner of Ruby and S. Covenanter and they fly down Ruby Lane and turn having headed into the ditch. My main concern is that cars fly down Ruby Lane and we have several families with small children. On the lower side of Ruby Lane there is no sidewalk and these cars are flying down the road. Their speed would kill a pedestrian or a child playing if they got hit. It would be nice with a sign or a speed bump to slow some of the traffic flying down E. Ruby Lane. We never see police officers patrol our neighborhood...not even when we file a report that we are out of town and would like beefed up security checks. The same culprits drive exceedingly fast down both E. Ruby Lane and E. Southdowns Drive and never get ticketed for speeding. If you want to get extra income for the city...that would be the way to do it. Set up a police officer and catch all the drivers driving too fast down these streets.

This is probably a Utilities issue, but I cannot find a place to make a report to them (online). Recently, there is a big THICK ICE patch that develops on the street at the corner of Maxwell and Woodlawn, whenever the temp. is below freezing. It is on the east side of Woodlawn at the SE corner of that intersection. (There is a fire hydrant at that location.) Pretty sure there is water leaking from somewhere underground onto the street.

Can you please, please, please move the stop signs back at Rhorer Rd. and So. Walnut St. Pike to match up with the white stop lines. People are confused and don't know which to stop at and it causes many headaches and confusion.
