I strongly feel there are many streets in Bloomington that are not sufficiently lit and pose danger to drivers and pedestrians. Many side streets off of Third Street Woodlawn, Faculty, Arbutus, Rose, and others have almost no light once you turn off from Third Street. This makes it difficult to see pedestrians and increases the chance of accidents.
Corner of Sowder Square between the 1001 and 1100 block of Alendale the street light is out
Street light on the NW corner of Woodlawn & Hunter is out. There are no other street lights on Woodlawn between Atwater & 2nd St even thought its sidewalks are heavily used by women leaving the campus in the dark to walk to the free parking lot east of Bryan Park. The dark sidewalk on the west side seems especially unsafe in the dark due to the large shrubbery that grows next to that sidewalk at several locations.
I am emailing on behalf of a fraternity property at Indiana University-Bloomington. Sigma Alpha Epsilon has 6 parking light poles which are not auto-illuminating as they should at night. I've contacted Duke Energy, and I was told to contact the City of Bloomington Utilities as your office would need to initiate some form of a service request to have them turned on. Again, this property is on IU's campus. Therefore, I'm trying to determine who is the proper entity, office and/or person to contact. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
The street light at the end of my driveway has been out for over two weeks. When will it be repaired.
The old street lights are in need of maintainance. One is taken down after it was hit by a car several years ago. They all need to be painted. Some look rusty. What is the plan for the beautiful old street lights? Between Atwater Ave and E 2nd St.
Why do we not have street lights on our road? We are not a private road. Thanks
STREET LIGHT OUT AT NW CORNER OF 1ST AND EAGLESON (FORMALLY JORDAN) - I've reported this to AES via the web and they said they don't serve Bloomington. This is not a request for a new street light, but a request to get an existing street light repaired. This is a busy intersection and it is very dark in the evening. This is a pressing public safety issue given the amount of pedestrian and car traffic in the area.
