Here at Griffin Realty we witness multiple incidents every week of drivers traveling the wrong way on S College Ave coming from S Walnut St via Dodds. There is only one small sign that indicates that this is a One Way street. I believe that more signage (Do Not Enter, Wrong Way, etc) is needed. Thanks.
The lanes going north at Rogers and 3rd street are very faded. The right lane is right turn only, and the left lane is straight/right turn. Several times now someone has been in the right lane and gone straight, almost running into my car. I think this is because there is no clear signage. Please consider having more clear signage about the lanes, and repainting the street.
Regarding the intersection at S. Rogers and Dodds streets. It is incredibly dangerous as vehicles frequently breaks abruptly and too late, or simply just blow past the stop signs, especially south bound on Rogers. I’ve seen so many near accidents not just with other vehicles, but many pedestrians. Petitioning to have either preemptive signage about upcoming stop sign ahead, or some sort of lights or reflectors on the stop signs themselves.
There are several street signs leftover from the path construction near the High St roundabout.
Stop sign needed for all ways. Live next to this intersection and witness close calls all the time and worry about accidents actually occurring, especially with it being right behind the high school. Please install signs along Henderson.
In connection with uReport Case #178466, I now request that the intersection of Fairview and 13th Street be converted into a four way stop. If BPD is unable to enforce traffic laws due to staffing issues while there is an identifiable problem that causes citizens to fear for the safety of their body as well as their personal property, then there needs to be more constraints on the ability for people to get up to high speed on a residential street. There has always been speed limit signs across from my house and my neighbor’s house (2 specifically are no longer there). They have been taken down since all the construction of our new 10 ft sidewalks. They need to be replaced! Many people are driving 40-50 miles an hour down our street now! With our new extra wide sidewalks, our street has heavy pedestrian traffic in addition to the school just down the street. It may also be partly because it looks like a very wide open road with the huge sidewalks, people feel they can go as fast as they want. There needs to be a four way stop sign at this intersection. It’s currently not safe for cars driving northbound on Hawthorne, as you can’t see very far to the left and cars come flying down 1st street at high speed (way over the speed limit) due to the lack of stop signs along this stretch of the road. This in of itself is a safety issue for the many families living along the road but also for the bikers and pedestrians trying to cross along that Hawthorne greenway bike route. Likewise, when approaching this intersection going southbound on Hawthorne it’s very hard to see to the left. You end up having to nudge the nose of your car into the intersection to even see when you ca. try to cross. I’ve personally had a couple of close calls with speeding cars on 1st. This needs to be addressed soon or there is likely to be a serious accident at this intersection!
On behalf of myself and concerned neighbors, we request the inclusion of a stop sign at High St. and Greenbriar Lane. This is an area of fast moving traffic despite the fact that it is also a crosswalk for school children and there are numerous children walking in the area. There are numerous stop signs along High St. up until this point so the lack of a stop sign at this particular intersection is a dangerous anomaly. If you could please implement one here, it would be much appreciated by the various surrounding neighborhoods. Thank you.
At 7th/Morton, the “new traffic pattern” sign is *after* the intersection. It should be located *before* the intersection to alert folks that cross-traffic no longer stops.
