"Head start" for pedestrians. Use the NYC trick, give walkers a 7 second head start before turning the light green. This intersection, the one on the bypass and 10th, and the Kirkwood Walnut crosswalk are just 3 places drivers ignore pedestrians as they only look at cars so they can make right turns. Please. Hello. I am the property manager for Tamarron HOA. There is a cross walk to Univeristy Elementary School from Tamarron. We are having issues with speeding vehicles and children crossing the street. At the HOA board meeting tonight it was suggested putting a three way stop sign at the intersection of Callery Drive and Tamarron Drive to at least slow the traffic down. Who do we contact about this? One Board member brought up if there is a stop sign on the north end of Callery Drive and Tamarron Drive, it will re-route cars down the south side of Tamarron so maybe installing two stop signs at each end of Callery Drive and Tamarron Drive. There is a hole on Baytree Ln. It is a prefect 12 inch circle implying something fits in it. It is 3 ft from the north side of Baytree Ln. At that location there is a parking lot with a sign that says, "THIS AREA FOR GUEST PARKING ONLY" on the north side. The address 3927 Baytree Ln is on the south side. This hole is very dangerous. A person walking there could not see it, setp in it and get badly injured. That could happen to me when I walk to my mail box. A person driving there could not see it, drive over it and get a bad jolt. That has happened to me. This situation needs to be taken care of.
Hello, I am wondering if City can install "Hidden Drive" sign on E 10th street in front of my house, 3950 E 10th street, Bloomington IN 47408. Especially, westbound on 10th would be ideal with caution sign because drivers are really fast and it is dangerous to pull car in and out from my house. If there is a sign, I hope drivers will be caution. Thank you.
There is a large tree that blocks the view of the east side of the road on 8th street from Roosevelt street. There have been many close calls with traffic and I think it's dangerous. The only way to see traffic coming from the east side is to pull up past the tree, but by then you are already halfway in the road. I would appreciate it if this tree could be cut down or at least cut in a way that makes it possible to see the road. The photo is the view from Roosevelt looking left to 8th street at the stop sign.
Just after the overpass when headed north on Smith Road (toward 10th Street) there is a large pothole that takes up the entirety of the bike lane. That area had been closed off for several weeks to fix a hole created by the utility crew working on the power lines. However, it was not completely filled and the hole that was left cannot be biked over safely. The situation is now more dangerous than when the area was closed off, as there are no cones or tape to indicate to the cyclists and the drivers that the cyclist will need to enter the traffic lane to avoid wrecking over the pothole. As is, this serves a serious danger. Someone is either going to get hit by a car while trying to avoid the large hole the are not expecting, or hit it and fall into traffic.
Please add a deer- crossing sign at the sharp curve on Old State Road 37. Cars speeding down the hill may not know how frequently deer run deer are present.
Hello, The stop lights at the intersections of Jordan and Atwater, and the intersection at 3rd and Jordan, are not synced. As a result, people driving to and from campus get hit by both stop lights. They used to be synced up with one another so drivers would make both lights if they were traveling east or if they were traveling west. Now, no matter what, you'll have to stop at one of them. Also, the green turn arrow light always comes on at the intersection of Jordan and 3rd, even if there is no traffic. This creates weird delays for people trying to leave campus. I know these complaints of mine are trivial, I'm not sure how much it would take to re-sync the stop lights. But I've worked on campus for years and it was perfect - now this happens and hundreds of people have to stop for 2 separate stop lights 4 or 5 times a day when it used to be zero stops.
Traffic southbound on Jordan is always held up by people waiting for the left turn to go east on Atwater. Countless times I've seen that the light has already cycled to yellow by the time northbound traffic has cleared, and as a result cars have backed up all the way to third st. If the switching equipment allows jordan southbound to get green BEFORE jordan northbound, it will improve intersection throughput tremendously.
400 Block S Jordan has heavy pedestrian traffic and many houses that have not cleared snow at all from sidewalk (403, 405, 409 S Jordan).
