Traffic southbound on Jordan is always held up by people waiting for the left turn to go east on Atwater. Countless times I've seen that the light has already cycled to yellow by the time northbound traffic has cleared, and as a result cars have backed up all the way to third st. If the switching equipment allows jordan southbound to get green BEFORE jordan northbound, it will improve intersection throughput tremendously.
Hello. I am the property manager for Tamarron HOA. There is a cross walk to Univeristy Elementary School from Tamarron. We are having issues with speeding vehicles and children crossing the street. At the HOA board meeting tonight it was suggested putting a three way stop sign at the intersection of Callery Drive and Tamarron Drive to at least slow the traffic down. Who do we contact about this? One Board member brought up if there is a stop sign on the north end of Callery Drive and Tamarron Drive, it will re-route cars down the south side of Tamarron so maybe installing two stop signs at each end of Callery Drive and Tamarron Drive. With the closure of Walnut Street Pike the amount of traffic (and speeders) going down Jaime Ln/Heather Dr as an unlisted detour is making the neighborhood less safe. Can the city please install temporary speed bumps?
The intersection of South walnut/South walnut street pike and winslow is a two way stop when it absolutely needs to be a four way or have a light. During heavy traffic periods in the evening the intersection is impossible to cross or navigate and is extremely unsafe. Please do something about this awful intersection.
I am requesting speed bumps for Covenanter Drive, between College Mall Road and Clarizz Blvd. This is residential area with two large apartment complexes. It's also a heavily traveled road for buses, bikes and vehicles, as well, as pedestrians. Many use it as a way to cut through the area or to reach nearby apartment complexes, the mall, the large Kroger, or medical offices. Speeding is a concern. Line of sight can also be issue with two bus stops, curbside parking, the road's curve and change in elevation. I think speed bumps would help the issue, just like it has done on Covenanter Drive, going west from College Mall to High Street.
Dunstan and Allendale Dr. is a city and MCCSC bus stop, both on the NW corner and SE corner of this 4 way stop. This is the only 4 way stop on Allendale. Vehicles are constantly ignoring the traffic sign. Consideration to make this a proper crosswalk with crosswalk lines, or a bus stop sign, or flashing stop sign is being requested. I appreciate that a traffic study is being done on Allendale to show increased speeds and traffic on this road. THe safety of our kids, pedestrians, and bike riders is what is of major concern.
Adams bridge apparently seems to be getting hit by too big trucks regularly. Having spoken to folks near by, it seems like while there are markings available, they are not sufficent to prevent accidents. Could folks look into improving the marking in the area?
Traffic lights on 4th at 4th/College seem mis-timed, at least when I am driving east at 8:30 am. The College Ave lights, in front of Serendipity/Atlas, are red for about 7 seconds before the 4th St light turns green. The same light at 4th/Walnut turns at the expected time. I'm seeing people sneak through 4th/College some mornings because the one-way southbound College Ave traffic is so clearly stopped to our left.
The traffic light at this intersection (S. Bryan Ave/High St & E. 3rd) has a very short timing on the Bryan Ave/High st. side, especially during rush hour. Traffic is nearly always backed up after 5pm due to the lights only being green for ~5 seconds, while the 3rd street lights are green for far longer. This is a problem for those of us coming off campus for the day at 5 as both roads get lines of traffic. If it would be possible to extend the length of the green light for these two 'side' roads for longer so traffic had more of a chance to clear, it would help ease congestion on these roads.
The left-turn green arrows at this intersection when you are northbound or southbound on Fee Lane (turning left onto 17th St) have not been working for a couple of months.
